In Motion: Southeast Asia’s Most Extreme Sporting Contribution – Sepak Takraw

Sepak Takraw, an insanely action packed sport that has been played throughout Southeast Asia for centuries, seems like it would be the lovechild that would result if volleyball and hackeysack got together and had babies. Indeed, players are NOT allowed to use their hands to contact the rattan-woven ball, but must use their feet, chest, or head to play the ball and attempt to score points on the opposing team.

In this video, one of the players busts out a bicycle kick (!); by itself, an impressive feat, made even more hardcore by the fact that the court below is nothing but solid, unforgiving bitumen…!
