Photo: Panoramic View Of The Pai Valley In The Late Afternoon, Thailand

A billion baht view from the Eastern benchland of the Pai Valley, taken late in the afternoon sun.

After a grey, uncharacteristically cool day in Pai District, Katie and I were headed back to town for our daily happy hour drink or three, when suddenly, the clouds parted.  The sun shone down upon the leafy green valley, still lush with life not long after the end of the rainy season, leaving me with an unmissable photo opportunity.

For people who don’t understand the appeal of Pai, seeing only trinket stands and boutique pubs/coffee shops, my plea would be to rent a motorbike and literally head to the hills.  It’s here you’ll find the soul of Pai, not in any business constructed by people.
